PPC-100/STM-1 is wireless point-to-point link that provide mm-wave radio performance for wireless 155 mbit STM-1 connectivity. These links are available at the following mm-wave bands: 40.5 - 43.5 GHz, 57.0 - 65.0 GHz, 71-76 GHz and 81-86 GHz, and 92-95 GHz.

Applications of Point-to-point PPC-100/STM-1 Links

The primary applications for PPC-100/STM-1 with STM-1 interface are wireless SDH / ATM rings. ELVA-1’s PPC-100/STM-1 systems provide an STM-1 optical interface, allowing these links to be a part of the optical SDH ring. Especially in urban areas where it is difficult to bring optical fiber due to cable trenching problems, PPC-100/STM-1 links make a quick and cost-effective installation possible.

Other general purpose applications are the following:

Wireless full duplex connection link for remote LAN segments at corporate and university campuses
Wireless backhaul for GSM mobile and WiFi base station interconnectivity
FSO (atmospheric laser) and fiber channel back-up
Multipurpose Fixed Wireless communications for any field use

PPC-100/STM-1 links are featured with remote management and parameter monitoring capabilities. To communicate with the link for SNMP and parameter control, there is a special twisted pair cable patch which has to be connected to any RJ-45 socket within LAN, deployed in the building. This allows remote SNMP management and remote parameter monitoring of
PPC-100/STM-1 links from a central location.

The 155 Mbps point-to-point millimeter wave radio systems are available with a choice of three different sizes of compact parabolic Cassegrain antenna - 30 cm, 45 cm, and 60 cm. Depending of the link frequency, these antennas deliver operating distances from about 1.5 mile to 9.5 miles (2.5 km to 15 km) for fair weather condition.

For easy adjusting of radios to a true line of sight, PPC-100/STM-1 link is shipped with aux electronic adjusting unit. This unit has own 1-line display to see changes in primary parameters of the link gain during adjustment process.

Special PPC software application is used to detect, monitor, and configure ElvaLink terminals connected within the same network. The PPC Main window displays status readings and parameter values for the active PPC-100/STM-1 terminal.
